We use "BitTorrent" as a form of distributing episodes among users quickly. Torrents are not guaranteed to stay available for long, so get it while you can.
| You have a great product, many
customers, and are delivering your product to hordes of happy customers
online. Serving large files creates problems of scaling, flash crowds, and
reliability. As you grow, they become more central to your business, but
your bandwidth costs go up as well. It's a vicious cycle.
There is a solution. BitTorrent is a simple software product which addresses all of these problems. The key to cheap file distribution is to tap the unutilized upload capacity of your customers. It's free. Their contribution grows at the same rate as their demand, creating limitless scalability for a fixed cost. Problem: more customers require more
bandwidth BitTorrent is not just a concept, but has a functioning implementation, already capable of swarming downloads across unreliable networks. This is the result of over two years of intensive development. |
You can find out more at www.bittorrent.com and download the original client. Some of the other clients available are Azureus, G3, ABC and BitTornado. We recommend BitTornado for downloading our releases.
If you are using a Router, you can find help regarding what ports to forward here.
If we have torrents running at the moment, you can find them on our tracker here. If it is down, this means we don't currently have torrents running. Remember to SEED for at least a ratio of 100% / 1.0 to allow others to get the file from you!

F-SERVE USE HELP
Please note that commands are in bold red text. When typing the command, make sure it is in plain text with no special formatting.
Now then, I'm sure one of the main reasons you're in the channel is to download episodes of Power Rangers. The first step to doing this is typing !list in the textbox at the bottom of the screen. You will see a lot of colourful text. These are called "File Server Ads". Here is an example:

Here we are using Pat's File Server (F-Serve) as an example. Now, on his ad you should see where it says "Triggers:[ ... ]". The actual "Trigger" is "/ctcp Pat Power Rangers Eps!". You will notice that Pat has two triggers - either can be used, but we will be using the first one in the example:

To access the F-Serve, you must type the Trigger. So, in the textbox at the bottom of the screen type /ctcp Pat Power Rangers Eps!. Typing out a trigger each time can be difficult and mistakes can be made, so it is easier to copy the text. In mIRC, "Copy" is achieved by simply highlighting the text with the left mouse button, not using Ctrl+C like other applications. To paste the copied trigger into the text box, you can use the regular Ctrl+V. Check that the trigger has been copied correctly and you haven't got the parenthesis "[" or "]" still attached to the trigger - if you do just delete them. Press Enter to send the trigger. If this is your first time using mIRC or another client, you may receive a window asking if you want to Accept a DCC Chat from Pat. Just accept this and carry on. It will open up the DCC Chat window:

Navigating in an F-Serve is done by typing text commands - most of which are similar to old DOS commands. To get a file listing of the initial directory, type dir. Files are in lower-case and have an extention (such as .avi) and filesize next to them. Folders are in capital letters. After typing dir, your F-Serve window should show something like this:

Now, let's say we wanted to download an episode of Power Rangers Season 1. You'll notice that Pat has a folder called "MMPR - SEASON 1" so the episodes must be in there. To get into the folder, type cd and then the folder name - for example, cd MMPR - SEASON 1. Again, you can use the copy and paste technique. It will open the MMPR - SEASON 1 folder, but to see what's inside it you will need to type dir again. Type cd.. if you wanted to go back into the previous folder.

Here we have a list of the episodes of Season 1 that Pat has. Let's say we wanted to start with the first episode. You would type get and then the filename (without the filesize). For instance, get mmpr - s1 - 001 - day of the dumpster.avi in the window. If there are no people currently downloading from the F-Serv, then your file will start sending straight away (you may have to click an "Accept" button) and will say "Sending File". If there are people downloading already, you will need to queue, and it will tell you what position you are at in the queue. The download will start to send once your turn in the queue comes. To see what the current sends and queues are, type sends and queues respectively. If you realise you've made a mistake and don't want the episode, type clr_queues, or clr_queue # to delete a specific queue - in this case, the # would be replaced by a number 1. When selecting a specific queue number, note that you can not delete any queues that are not yours.
![]()
When you've finished queuing your file, or simply browsing, you must type exit in the same window. Please note that closing this window will not delete your queues or stop your downloads. Just stay in the #power-rangers channel - if you leave, your queue will not be sent.

Do you need help with something that isn't in this guide? Contact one of the OPs in the channel (people with @ or % by their screename). They are not always at their computer, so please be patient in waiting for a response. If you wish, you may ask your question to the general channel and see if anyone there has an answer to it.

MIRC HELP
If you wish to chat, share or download, we recommend you use the "SysReset" mIRC client, which you can download here ("SysReset Full Installation Pack" is the one to get).
Our channel is #power-rangers on irc.dejatoons.net, port 6667.
1. Once you have downloaded SysReset and installed it (most likely to C:/SysReset if you are a windows user), open up the program by clicking mirc.exe or mirc32.exe.
![]()
2. A welcome window will appear. Click Continue when the button allows you to.
3. An mIRC Options window will appear. If it does not, click Tools>Options on the menu bar at the top. In the Options, select tab Connect > Servers.

4. Click "Add" to add our network to the list.
5. The "Add server" window appears. In 'Description' type "Dejatoons Main". For 'IRC Server' type "irc.dejatoons.net". For 'Ports' you should type "6667" and for 'Group' you should type "Dejatoons":

6. Go to the basic Connect Tab. Enter a word for full name, a made up Email address, a Nickname you would like e.g. MyNick and an alternative nickname such as MyNick2. Do not have Invisible Mode ticked. Then click OK.

7. You should return to a blank screen on mIRC. Click the button with #+ in it near the top of the screen.
![]()
8. This will open an "mIRC Favorites" window. Click "Add". This is where you will type the information to access our channel. For "Channel:" type #power-rangers. Click "Add" to open the Networks window and select "Dejatoons" (which you added to the server list earlier) then click OK on the Networks window to return to the Add Channel window (below). It should look like the example below. Click OK.

9. Click the lightning bolt icon to connect to the server.
![]()
10. You will be bombarded with information about the server. You should read it if you wish to avoid trouble with the server.
11. You must now register your chosen nickname. Click back to the status window - Type /msg nickserv register PASSWORD EMAIL where PASSWORD is your private password and EMAIL is your email address. Typing /nick MyNick2 where MyNick2 is your alternate nick will change your nickname to that, in this case MyNick2. You should also register this in the same way. /msg nickserv register PASSWORD EMAIL.
12. At this point, you should read the channel rules.
13. Once done with that, type /join #power-rangers in the text bar of the status window. This will bring up our channel on your screen. You will see * Now talking in #channelname and a Topic. You MUST read the topic as there may be an important message to take note of. On the right of the program you will see a list of users in the channel. Those with @ or % by their username are channel operators. If you have a problem, you should talk to the operators. Users with + by their name are servers - i.e. users that are sharing their files for you to download.

14. To send a message in the channel, type it (e.g. "Hi!") in the text box at the bottom of the screen. Press enter to send it and everyone will be able to see.
15. If you wish, you can set #power-rangers to be joined automatically when you connect to Dejatoons. Return to statement 8 but tick "Join on connect", then press okay.
16. Welcome to the wonderful world of IRC!
